About The Event
Jill Kemp, recorders
Claire Williams, harpsichord
The Marylebone Gardens were public pleasure gardens situated in the grounds of the old manor house of Marylebone and from the mid 17th century until the late 18th century they became a recognised concert venue. Jill Kemp and Claire Williams make a welcome return to the festival to present a colourful baroque programme containing many of the delights that might have been heard in the Pleasure Gardens of Old Marylebone. Marylebone of the 17th and 18th centuries was just as international as it is today. This concert includes a truly diverse array of composers from all over Europe.
